The rich and unique setting that's well interwoven into the story is one of the first things that caught my attention in these books. The books are well developed and strongly written. She draws you into the story and keeps you there. As a reader I enjoyed these books immensely and have read them several times (and am planning to read them again - when I do I'll post a synopsis of each book from a freshly read point of view). As a writer, the interaction and impact of the setting on the characters and story is astounding. There is nothing you could take out of them that would not end up destroying the effect of the whole, everything is that well interwoven.
